Herbaceous plants

If one compares a garden with a cathedral, herbaceous plants can be qualified, without any doubt, with the ornamental and colorful windows of the building. “Herbaceous plants” include a tremendous range of plants like grasses, heuchera, hosta, hellebores, phlox, sempervivum, sedum and many more. If herbaceous plants are generally hardy and easy to grow, it’s important NOT to buy them too small as bigger plants are more resistant. Therefore at Vallonchêne®, we are specialised in producing and selling of big herbaceous plants (even those for sale online). The size of the pot is shown in each plant description. You should be very careful when buying small herbaceous plants as they suffer quickly from a lack of water and oftentimes it’s difficult to get them started. One believes making a saving buying small plants but starts to pay when the first ones are dying.

Our herbaceous plants are only accepted for production at Vallonchêne, if they are perfectly hardy and unusual or rare for one or more reasons (flower color, color of leaves, shape, fruits…).
