La Planta<\/h2>\n

El CARPINUS FANGIANA<\/strong>, tambi\u00e9n llamado carpe de Fang o carpe cola de mono<\/strong>, forma parte de los \u00e1rboles ornamentales extremadamente raros. Se distingue sobre todo por sus enormes amentos<\/strong>, que pueden alcanzar una longitud de hasta 50 cm. \u00a1Imag\u00ednese eso en un \u00e1rbol! Se trata de los amentos m\u00e1s largos de todas las especies de carpe<\/strong>. <\/p>\n

Estas impresionantes flores aparecen en mayo-junio<\/strong>. Comienzan con un color blanco-verde y luego se vuelven marrones cuando maduran. <\/p>\n

Adem\u00e1s, sus brotes primaverales son de un color p\u00farpura a marr\u00f3n<\/strong> y su follaje es glabro<\/strong>. Las hojas alcanzan hasta 27 cm de largo<\/g>. En verano muestran un encantador verde, mientras que en oto\u00f1o se tornan de color naranja<\/strong>. <\/p>\n

Finalmente, el carpe cola de mono combina la resistencia de los carpes con un espect\u00e1culo floral incomparable.<\/p>\n

Historia y Origen<\/h2>\n

El CARPINUS fangiana nos llega del sur de China (Sichuan, este de Yunnan, norte de Guangxi y Guizhou). Se encuentra all\u00ed en valles monta\u00f1osos a altitudes de 900 a 2000 m. <\/p>\n

Adem\u00e1s, fue descrito formalmente por primera vez en 1929 por Hu Hsen-Hsu<\/em> en el Journal of the Arnold Arboretum<\/em>. Fue nombrado en honor a W. C. Fang<\/em>, un recolector chino de plantas que contribuy\u00f3 de manera significativa al estudio de la flora china. <\/p>\n
