THE PLANT<\/h2>\n

LARIX kaempferi ‘Magic Gold’<\/strong> is an absolutely fabulous and unusual Japanese larch<\/strong>.
\nAs soon as its bright yellow foliage<\/strong> emerges at the very beginning of spring, this deciduous conifer lights up like a real torch. It then becomes a real well of light in your garden and will remain so until the end of summer.
\n This tree grows much slower than the species type and will not exceed 2 to 3 meters in 10 years<\/strong>.
\n Then, in autumn, the leaves will take on a beautiful copper color<\/strong> before falling.
\n Obviously, this exceptional tree withstands low temperatures without difficulty<\/strong> (less than -20\u00b0C).<\/p>\n

How to plant care for LARIX kaempferi ‘Magic Gold’?<\/h2>\n

The planting<\/h3>\n
    \n
  1. Plant this Japanese larch in partial shade or full sun<\/strong>. This can be in a container, pot, isolated or solid<\/strong>. In pots and containers, it is of course necessary to monitor watering as long as you keep them this way. <\/li>\n
  2. In open ground, the place can be humid, moderately humid or dry<\/strong>.<\/li>\n
  3. Choose a location with light, normal or heavy soil<\/strong> and an acidic, neutral or calcareous pH<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    Caring<\/h3>\n

    This conifer is an easy-care plant<\/strong>. There is no need to protect it from the cold in winter.
    \n If you plant a larger specimen, consider installing a stake to provide greater stability until it is fully rooted.
    \n If you feel the need to prune it, do so in March, before new growth appears<\/strong>. <\/p>\n

    History and Origin<\/h2>\n

    The type species, LARIX kaempferi is widely used in the forestry industry not only in central and northern Japan, but also in Northern Europe and particularly in Ireland and Great Britain. Unlike larch native to Europe, the wood of L. kaempferi is poorer in resin. Furthermore, all kinds of LARIX kaempferi such as LARIX kaempferi ‘Magic Gold’ are widely used in ornamental gardens.<\/p>\n

    While the type species can reach heights of 50 meters, this will not be the case for L. kaempferi ‘Magic Gold’.
    \nAdditionally, LARIX kaempferi develop roots both deep and wide.
    \nThis gives them greater stability.<\/p>\n
