The Las Guaitecas cypress is an extremely sought-after conifer among connoisseurs. Indeed, PILGERODENDRON uviferum is the only species of its genus known to date. The foliage is green and very dense. It has a columnar and narrow shape. This conifer grows very slowly. Today, we can still find in its natural habitat specimens with trunks of up to 1.50 m, while there were some with a diameter reaching 3 m according to reports (before its overexploitation).
