Unlike other lilacs, this one will not exceed two meters in height while having a soft and bushy graphic.
Its flowers surprise with their abundance and finesse. Their pink color and scent make it essential.
Its foliage is also distinguished by its finesse compared to common lilacs.
In addition, its resistance to summer drought (after at least two years of planting) makes it a plant of the future.

History and Origin

The species SYRINGA pubescens ssp. microphylla has its origins in China and Korea. So, it grows on hills, in pastures, forests, and along rivers.

The subspecies microphylla was named for its smaller foliage. However, it is rarely used as an ornamental shrub.

In German, it is also called downy lilac, probably because of its small, slightly downy leaves.

The name SYRINGA mycrophylla ‘Superba’ is a synonym of SYRINGA pubescens ssp. microphylla ‘Superba’.
